About SoInCares
SoInCares is dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals in recovery and those impacted by the justice system, while also addressing the talent needs of the behavioral health workforce in Southern Indiana. Whether you are an employer searching for skilled professionals or an individual seeking training and career opportunities in this expanding field, SoInCares is here to support your journey to success.
Three initiatives
The three primary areas of focus of the SoInCares initiative include:
Recruitment, Training & Employment
Recruit, train, and employ justice-impacted individuals and individuals in recovery preparing them for entry-level positions within the behavioral health field, such as Peer Recovery Coaches, Community Health Workers, and Behavioral Health Technicians.
Professional Development & Training
Enhance the skills and expertise of current behavioral healthcare workers by funding specialized certifications and credentials, including Cultural Competency for Service Providers, Medication Assisted Treatment (M.A.T.), and technical certificates in areas like Human Services, Mental Health Direct Support, and Addiction Studies.
Employer Awareness & Education
Create a more inclusive and supportive work environment by raising awareness among employers about fair chance employment opportunities and strategies to address substance misuse, addiction, and recovery in the workplace. SoInCares funds a variety of training that will equip you for an entry level role in behavioral health, allowing you to use your lived experience to support others on similar paths and make a meaningful impact in your community. Depending on training availability and eligibility, your training may be fully covered by SoInCares.

At SoInCares, we understand the challenges employers face in recruiting and retaining skilled behavioral health professionals. That’s why we’re partnering with local employers to provide access to well-trained, motivated individuals who are ready to contribute to your organization. Through targeted recruitment, we focus on placing justice-impacted individuals and those in recovery in entry-level roles such as: Peer Recovery Coaches, Community Health Workers, Behavioral Health Technicians, and other support roles in the behavioral health industry.
