SOUTHERN INDIANA — Five local workforce, education and economic development leaders have completed a 12-month Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) Academy focused on strengthening the region’s talent pipeline for advanced manufacturing.

The Southern Indiana cohort included Tony Waterson and Kristen Barry of Southern Indiana Works (SIW), Matthew Cupp of Ivy Tech Community College Sellersburg, Josh Staten of the River Ridge Development Authority and Jack Harrison of One Southern Indiana (1SI).

During the program, participants used the TPM framework’s six strategies to evaluate critical job demand in advanced manufacturing and develop a plan to better align employers, education and workforce partners with the skills needed in the local economy.

The six strategies address employer collaboration, critical job demand, job requirements, talent supply, talent supply chains, and continuous improvement and resiliency planning.

The TPM Academy was created by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and is delivered in Indiana through the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. The program uses an employer-driven approach to help communities build talent pipelines aligned with current and future business needs.

The Southern Indiana cohort will continue using the TPM framework to strengthen partnerships and develop solutions that help local employers find skilled workers while creating stronger career pathways in the advanced manufacturing industry.
