Southern Indiana Works (SIW) is proud to recognize Teresa Moulton, Youth Program Manager, for successfully completing the Leadership Southern Indiana DISCOVER Program. This nine-month leadership development experience brings together professionals from across the region to strengthen civic engagement, deepen community knowledge, and build lasting professional relationships.
Since 1981, Leadership Southern Indiana has helped develop more than 2,000 leaders across Clark, Floyd, and Scott Counties and surrounding communities. Through its DISCOVER program, often described by participants as “adult field trips,” leaders are given the opportunity to explore key areas that shape the region, including economic development, education, diversity and inclusion, government, tourism, health, and workforce systems.
Throughout the program year, participants engaged in a series of learning and networking experiences designed to inform, inspire, connect, and empower community leaders. The DISCOVER program schedule included the following experiences:

- Economy and Workforce Day
- Education Day
- Government Day
- Inclusive Communities Day
- SIMSOC Day
- Healthy Communities Day
- Tourism Day
Each session provided participants with a deeper understanding of the region’s assets, challenges, and opportunities, while also fostering meaningful relationships among leaders from a wide range of industries.
Teresa reflected that the DISCOVER Program was an outstanding opportunity to connect with leaders across multiple organizations and sectors. She emphasized that the relationships built throughout the experience have immediate and long-term value in her work at SIW. Having a strong network of colleagues across the region allows for easier collaboration, quicker access to expertise, and more effective problem solving in service to the community.
