In today’s rapidly evolving job market, securing a fulfilling career can be a challenging thing to accomplish. Many individuals find themselves in need of guidance and support to navigate job searching, career planning, and professional development. Each individual in search of a job also comes with their own set of roadblocks preventing them from getting the help to reach that goal.
To address the common roadblock of transportation to the SIW WorkOne Career Center and reaching job seekers who may not even know our resources exist, we have taken a progressive step forward by introducing a brand-new initiative.
Customers can now visit a kiosk we have installed at the New Albany Floyd County Library to connect virtually with a career coach all at no cost to them.
This partnership between the library and our career center aims to provide access to career guidance in hopes we can make it available to all, regardless of age, background, or financial constraints. With the use of technology, the kiosk is hoping to improve the way individuals seek professional advice, enhancing their chances of success in today’s job market.
The Kiosk is designed with simplicity and accessibility in mind. Located directly inside the library’s front doors, this user-friendly interface provides customers with a seamless experience. When users approach the kiosk, they will follow the prompts and instructions displayed to get the needed supplies and gain access to a career coach via video conferencing.
Whether customers are recent graduates, career changers, or someone seeking to enhance their professional prospects, the career coaches available through the kiosk offer personalized guidance to address individual needs. They possess a wealth of expertise in diverse industries and can help with resume building, interview preparation, career exploration, and skills development. The coaches take the time to understand each individual’s aspirations, strengths, and challenges, empowering them to make informed decisions and take proactive steps toward achieving their goals.
