Jim Webb, the Local Veterans Employment Representative, and Bill Townsend, the Disabled Veteran Outreach Program (DVOP) Specialist, both received Annual Incentive Awards during the DWD-JVSG Annual Veteran Conference for 2022 in Indianapolis! Both Veterans work out of the Southern Indiana Works, WorkOne Career Center serving Region 10.
JIM WEBB: Outstanding Performance in Employer Outreach and Facilitating Employment
Jim consistently reaches out to employers and has provided over 1,200 services during this reporting period, with his primary focus on Workplace recruitment assistance, Employer Information Services, and Accessing Untapped Labor Pools. He has worked extensively with the Business Services Representatives team members and the WorkOne offices to develop streamlined processes and pipelines for all veterans, resulting in an extremely high percentage of Veteran placements. In recognition of this award Jim wrote, “It is a great honor to receive this award. We represent Region 10. The people of Region 10 are wonderful to work with and because of you (the employees at Southern Indiana Works, WorkOne Career Center) and the work you do, we received this award. I am proud of our region and proud to offer support to our veterans. What a great job I have.
BILL TOWNSEND: Outstanding Performance in Individualized Career Services, Outreach to Targeted Veterans, and Services to Veterans with Barriers
Bill was able to build extremely strong partnerships with staff, partners, and Veteran organizations including Vet Courts, Veterans Integrated Coalitions, and Veteran networking groups. This resulted in case-managing dozens of Veterans with Significant Barriers to Employment while ensuring they were co-enrolled to receive the maximum services available. In addition, he assisted with the Virtual Client Engagement pilot program to help fellow staff members understand how to maximize the full potential of the program. In recognition of this award Bill wrote, “Thank You and we could not have received it without the support of this office staff and leadership!”
